RTG 2025 Newsletter

FROM THE SED DESK

At Reinhardt Transport Group, our commitment to social upliftment goes beyond the road.

Through every school shoe donated, stationery pack delivered, bursary awarded, and sanitary drive supported, we aim to uplift the communities we serve.

This edition of the newsletter highlights some of the impactful work carried out between January and July 2025 as part of our Social Economic Development (SED) efforts.

Each story reflects not only our core values but also the power of partnerships and the meaningful change we create when we work together.

SA Lithium – Oral Health Drive (Umzumbe District)

RTG supported SA Lithium in a school-based outreach programme in the Umzumbe District, KwaZulu-Natal, where essential hygiene packs were handed out to female
learners.

A total of over 400 girls received toiletries and oral care items, promoting dignity, wellbeing, and classroom confidence. RTG’s role included logistical assistance, on-site distribution participation, and funding. This initiative was well-received by learners and school staff and forms part of a growing emphasis on health-linked education support.

Two River Mine – Tertiary Bursary Support

In partnership with Two River Mine, RTG awarded a full academic bursary to Unathi Thwala, a local student currently pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering at North-West University. The bursary, covers Unathi’s tuition and academic needs for the year.

This initiative forms part of RTG’s commitment to long-term, skills-focused community upliftment — supporting youth who show both potential and perseverance. The support was approved through structured internal SED protocols and marks a significant contribution to education in our operational footprint.

Arxo Shoe Drive – Rustenburg (January 2025)

RTG committed to supplying 300 new pairs of school shoes for distribution to underprivileged learners in the Rustenburg area.

Exxaro Shoe Drive – Ellisras District (May 2025)

Initially set to supply 300 learners, RTG expanded its response and successfully delivered 500 pairs of school shoes to under-resourced schools across the Ellisras region in partnership with Exxaro.

Cyclist Sponsorship – Burgersfort to Cape Town Ride (March 2025)

RTG sponsored the logistical costs of three young cyclists who undertook a 1,700 km
journey from Burgersfort to Cape Town. Their goal was to raise awareness of
gender-based violence and social challenges facing youth.

Although this was not a high-cost sponsorship in financial terms, RTG’s involvement included assistance with travel coordination, safety equipment, and branding support. The team was featured in Steelburger News, generating positive visibility and demonstrating RTG’s willingness to back youth-led initiatives with purpose.

Dwarsrivier Career Day – Reaching 800 Learners (May 2025)

For the annual Career Week at Dwarsrivier, RTG packed and delivered 800 drawstring bags, each containing a balanced lunch with a sandwich, juice,
sweet snack and salty snack.

These were distributed on-site during the event to ensure every learner had access to refreshments throughout the programme. The branded bags added a visible, professional touch to RTG’s presence and were well received by both learners and educators.

Mimi Woman Sanitary Drive – Steelpoort (June 2025)

RTG assisted Mimi SA by covering their travel and accommodation needs to facilitate the delivery of sanitary packs to schools in Steelpoort.

Thanks to this support, young girls across the region received personal hygiene products — enabling them to attend school with confidence and consistency. While the contribution was behind the scenes, its effect was both visible and deeply appreciated by recipients and educators.

Exxaro Career Day – Ellisras (July 2025)

RTG sponsored 58 educational vouchers for a lucky draw at the Exxaro Career Expo, providing learners with school supplies.

This gesture not only added excitement to the event, but also ensured that learners left with tools they could use in the classroom. By tying career
inspiration with practical assistance, RTG added
tangible value to a high-impact youth development initiative.

TG’s annual Toy Drive once again brought our people together in an inspiring show of generosity and heart. All divisions took part in collecting toys — both new and gently pre-loved — with decorated drop-off points at each depot and enthusiastic participation across the Group.

Thanks to your collective efforts, toys are now being delivered to 28 identified organisations, including local crèches, preschools, primary schools and hospices across the communities where RTG operates. All drop-off locations have been confirmed, and the first handovers are already under way.

This initiative, now a proud tradition in our calendar, continues to highlight the incredible culture within RTG — one where we not only work together but care together. The creativity, energy and compassion shown by our teams once again exceeded expectations.

To every team member who contributed, thank you for your generosity, your time, and your willingness to give so freely. Your efforts are bringing joy to children who truly need it — and making a lasting impact that extends far beyond the workplace.
We’ll be sharing delivery updates and announcing the winning division soon. Until then, thank you for reminding us what the RTG spirit is all about.

From the SED Team: As we reflect on the first part of 2025, we’re reminded that meaningful change is built through consistent, everyday acts of care and collaboration. Thank you to everyone across RTG who contributed to the initiatives featured in this edition. The SED portfolio is more than a mandate. It’s a reflection of who we are and how we choose to show up in the communities around us. We look forward to building on this momentum in the months ahead — together.
