As we look back on the second half of 2025, Reinhardt Transport Group remains steadfast in our mission to make a lasting, positive difference. From supporting local schools and community initiatives to empowering individuals through education and wellness projects, our Social Economic Development (SED) efforts continue to drive meaningful change. In this edition, we share the latest stories and successes from August to December—each one a testament to our enduring values, dedicated partnerships, and the collective impact we achieve together.
August 2025
Women in Mining – SA Lithium
During Women’s Month, we had the privilege of recognising dedicated women working in mining. To mark the occasion, we donated 120 notebooks as a practical gesture to support their daily work. This initiative aimed to acknowledge their efforts and provide a useful resource for recording ideas, planning, and contributing to ongoing improvements in the mining sector. We value the positive role all team members play and are pleased to show our appreciation for their hard work and commitment.

Mimi Woman Sanitary Drive, Kroondal
Our commitment to uplifting young women took centre stage during our visit to two schools in Kroondal. Understanding that lack of access to sanitary products is a barrier to education and self-confidence, our team distributed 700 comprehensive sanitary packs. Each learner received a four-month supply of sanitary towels, a mini bag, hand lotion, and lip balm. For many girls, this support means uninterrupted school attendance, restored dignity, and the reassurance that their wellbeing is important to us. The positive feedback from learners and educators motivates us to keep fighting for health equity in our communities.

Exxaro Road Race
This year’s Exxaro Road Race wasn’t just about physical fitness—it was about unity, well-being, and showing that Reinhardt Transport Group’s support for our employees goes beyond the workplace. The initiative was sparked when Esmari Bekker from Insimbi Freight suggested we consider supporting the event, leading us to get our staff involved. By covering registration fees and providing race kits, we enabled 35 team members to participate in this energising community event. The cheers, laughter, and shared challenge built stronger bonds within our team and showcased RTG’s belief that a healthy workforce is a strong workforce.

Soup Kitchen, Heidelberg
No one should go hungry, and this simple truth guides our outreach efforts. In September, we partnered with Nothing is Impossible Ministries to bring nutritional support to 60 vulnerable community members in Heidelberg. By providing hearty soup and traditional fat cakes, we not only met a physical need but also delivered a message of compassion and solidarity. These small acts of kindness can provide a lifeline to those in need, and we take great pride in contributing to their daily wellbeing.

Grandpa and Grandma Christmas Project
The holiday season can be a particularly lonely time for elderly people, especially those in care homes separated from family. To help brighten their days, we partnered with Ouma en Oupa Kersprojek NPC to deliver 180 festive gifts to old age homes around the country, along with an extra 90 gifts for a home in Vanderbijlpark. Each parcel was thoughtfully packed by our staff to bring warmth and cheer, reminding recipients that they are valued members of our community. The smiles and gratitude we received are a powerful reminder of how important it is to honour and care for our elders.

Food Parcels: Steelpoort
The final year of school is a critical milestone for any learner. Understanding the challenges faced by Mokwadibe Secondary School’s matriculants, we provided weekly food parcels for 60 students who stayed on campus to dedicate themselves to their exams. These parcels ensured that hunger would not stand in the way of their ambitions and that every learner could focus on securing a brighter future for themselves and their families.

Happiness Primary School
When food supply delays threatened the wellbeing of 700 children at Happiness Primary School, we acted together with Pride Milling Nigel and stepped in. We supplied maize meal, samp, soya mince, and instant porridge to ensure that every learner received a nutritious meal. We are committed to supporting our communities in times of need, as food security is fundamental to academic achievement and personal growth.

SPCA Nigel
Our care extends beyond people to the animals that are part of our communities. When Yvette Langenhoven brought to our attention that the Nigel SPCA was experiencing a food shortage, our staff responded quickly and generously by donating food supplies. In addition, we donated R2,000 worth of pet food to SPCA Nigel. Thanks to this collective effort, animals in need received much-needed nourishment, once again highlighting the compassion and community spirit that define our team.

Laerskool Tini Vorster
By sponsoring gifts for the “Pa en Seun Visvang” (Father and Son Fishing) weekend fundraiser at Laerskool Tini Vorster, we supported both education and community spirit. Events like these not only raise funds, but also provide families with the chance to connect and make lasting memories together. Our involvement reflects our belief in nurturing the next generation, both through academic support and by encouraging meaningful relationships beyond the classroom.

Boxes of Blessings, Richards Bay
The Boxes of Blessings initiative was brought to our attention by Michelle Strickland, who recommended this project to the SED department. Thanks to her suggestion, we were able to sponsor 24 Christmas gifts for underprivileged community members in Richards Bay, spreading hope and joy during the festive season. This initiative is a powerful reminder of how individual contributions and ideas can lead to meaningful action, and it reflects the compassion and proactive spirit that define our team’s approach to making a positive difference.

Bambi Road Soccer Team, Burgersfort
Sports do more than keep young people active and healthy—they foster teamwork, discipline, and resilience. By sponsoring new kits and gazebos for the Bambi Road Soccer Team, we ensured every player could take the field with pride and confidence. Supporting local sports is an investment in the future, helping to build stronger, more vibrant communities.

Happiness Primary School
Recognising the ongoing need at Happiness Primary School, we delivered breakfast supplies for 700 learners, ensuring they could start each day with the energy needed to learn and thrive. With the continued support of Pride Milling, this regular nourishment is helping to create a stable and caring learning environment where children feel supported and motivated to reach their full potential.

New Hope Daycare
Every child deserves to feel included and celebrated during the festive season. We helped create a joyful Christmas for 60 preschoolers at New Hope Daycare by providing gifts and snacks. These happy moments not only brought smiles, but also serve as important building blocks for positive childhood memories and healthy early development.

Soccerino Football Club
For Soccerino Football Club, our sponsorship provided both new kits and covered entry fees for seasonal tournaments. By removing financial barriers, we help young athletes access opportunities, build friendships, and develop skills that will serve them throughout life. This support not only encourages sporting excellence but also inspires confidence and ambition within the team. By backing local sports initiatives like this, we aim to nurture positive values, healthy lifestyles, and a strong sense of community among the youth.

Year-End Function – Community Trucks
The Exxaro year-end function is a highlight for many, bringing together employees and community partners to celebrate achievements. RTG and Insimbi Freight sponsored shirts for the occasion, helping foster a sense of unity, recognition, and pride in our shared accomplishments. The event created a memorable atmosphere where everyone could reflect on the year’s successes and strengthen the bonds within our community, setting a positive tone as we look forward to new opportunities in the coming year.

Wheelchair Donation
When a need arises within our organisation, we strive to support our people in meaningful ways. In December, we provided a new wheelchair for the child of one of our employees, helping to improve their mobility and independence. This gesture reflects our values of compassion and care, and our commitment to ensuring everyone in our community feels valued and supported. Acts like these strengthen our organisation and remind us of the importance of looking out for one another.
